Palliative care is a concept that may not be on everyone’s lips today, but it is already penetrating into our lives. And we want to believe that the level of this help, so necessary for people, in our country will increase from year to year.

According to the definition of the World Health Organization, palliative care is an approach, the purpose of which is to improve the quality of life of patients facing a dangerous disease. Each person in such a situation has personal experience of overcoming an illness... But if during this period he will be surrounded by the care not only of family and friends, but also of professionals who are able to provide the necessary assistance, the condition of such a patient will be greatly relieved.

Palliative care abroad appeared more than 30 years ago, in Russia it is less than 10 years old. We talked to Sofia Perozhak, Head of the Strategic Development Department of MEDIPAL-ONKO, about this direction and its development prospects.
